Egor Korchagin, known as The Zabuckler, emerged victorious in the Daurie Eurasian Cup competition.
In the heart of Zabaykalsky Krai, the capital city of Chita hosted the II International Boxing Tournament 'Eurasian Cup 'Dauria' from September 8 to 13. The tournament saw the participation of over 200 athletes from 19 countries, making it a global spectacle of boxing prowess.
The Russian team, led by coach Viktor Antonov, dominated the competition, winning 10 out of the 13 possible gold medals. Two of the standout boxers from the Russian team were Egor Korchagin and Renat Attokurov, both members of the Zabaykalsky Krai team.
In the 75kg weight category, Egor Korchagin emerged victorious, defeating a boxer from Uzbekistan in the final bout. His win earned him not only the championship title but also the title of Master of Sports of Russia.
Renat Attokurov, on the other hand, lost to the World Junior Champion, Ruslan Shikhambetov, but still managed to secure the silver medal for the Zabaykalsky Krai team.
The final bouts featured 26 top boxers, with the tournament culminating in a thrilling display of skill and determination. The victory of Egor Korchagin was celebrated by the Zabaykalsky Krai government, with the news reported on their official Telegram channel.
Alexander Osipov, the Governor of Zabaykalsky Krai, expressed his gratitude to all the athletes who participated in the tournament. He also stated that Zabaykalsky Krai is currently hosting a sports festival for spirited people, providing an opportunity for athletes from all over the world to showcase their talents.
The winners of the tournament were not just awarded monetary certificates, but also championship belts, symbolising their hard-earned victories. The II International Boxing Tournament 'Eurasian Cup 'Dauria' concluded in Chita, leaving behind memories of intense competition and camaraderie among the athletes.
