Eduard Saksonov returns as Start's head coach for third spell

Nizhny Novgorod's Start has named Eduard Saksonov as its new head coach. The 53-year-old returns for his third spell at the club Saksonov previously managed Start from 2014 to mid-2015 and again from March 2021 until March 2023. Most recently, he spent the 2023–24 season in charge of Murmansk's Murman, guiding them to a 12th-place finish.

Vasily Sukhanov, chairman of Start's board, thanked Rushkin for his contributions and the lessons he brought to the team. Sukhanov called Rushkin's time at the club a 'vibrant and memorable chapter.' He also wished the outgoing coach good health, happiness, and success in his future career. The appointment sees Saksonov take over a side familiar to him. His experience with Start spans nearly four years across two separate stints, though no further details on his wider career were provided.

Saksonov now steps into the role with immediate effect. His return brings continuity, having coached the team in recent seasons. Meanwhile, Rushkin leaves with the club's appreciation for his work and impact during his tenure.
