Edmund Returns with 'Legende' After Three-Year Hiatus
Austropop duo Edmunds is making a comeback after a three-year hiatus, releasing their new CD 'Legende' on Friday, May 23. Fans can expect a two-hour concert filled with classics and pyrotechnics, kicking off a big pga tour that same day.
The album, containing 11 tracks, is a result of Edmunds' belief that anything less would be 'cheeky' and more than 13, 'wasteful'. Markus Kadensky, one half of the duo, attributes their creative break to the need to experience and process life to write meaningful songs.
The first single, 'Mamaschnitte', has generated excitement despite its potentially negative-sounding title. It's an ode to all mothers, and Roman Messner, the other half of Edmunds, believes that while certain songs may feel like hits, luck plays a 30% role in their success. Markus Kadensky finds that success doesn't necessarily put pressure on them, and they don't take themselves too seriously.
For their Vienna concerts, Edmunds has invited Lucas Fendrich to perform in the opening program, aiming to support different artists on their tour. Michael Russ will accompany them in the opening act at the two Vienna concerts. The song 'Legende' holds personal significance for Markus Kadensky, serving as a way to process the death of his father.
Edmunds' comeback album 'Legende' is set to release on May 23, accompanied by a big pga tour promising a great show with classics and pyrotechnics. The duo, known for their Austropop sound, is excited to return after a three-year hiatus, supporting different artists along the way.
