Edinburgh Oasis: Two Hours of Unadulterated Delight Amidst the Scottish Breeze
Oasis Rocks Edinburgh's Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium
In a thrilling two-hour set, British rock band Oasis took the stage at Edinburgh's Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium on an unspecified date during their 2022 tour. The concert, which was attended by 70,000 fans, including middle-aged people, kids, and even ten-year-old children, was a testament to the band's enduring appeal.
The evening's opening acts included Cast and Richard Ashcroft, both symbolic of the Britpop musical current. As the main event began, Oasis performed their greatest hits, including "Hello", "Some Might Say", "Cigarettes & Alcohol", "Wonderwall", and "Rock 'n' Roll Star". A unique tribute was paid to the underdogs of the music business with the playing of Tam Tam, an Italian cover of Come Together by The Beatles.
However, the concert was not without controversy. Liam Gallagher, the band's frontman, criticised the Edinburgh City Council during the concert, calling them "a bunch of snakes" for a report that described fans as a rowdy, drunken mob. Liam claimed the band's significant economic contribution to the city and was still waiting for an apology from the council.
Despite this, the concert was a resounding success. An older, intoxicated woman's enthusiastic dancing in the stands became an unintentional symbol of Oasis' ability to speak to a diverse, imperfect, and noisy humanity. The concert ended with a fireworks display and encores of "The Masterplan", "Don't Look Back In Anger", "Wonderwall", and "Champagne Supernova".
Irvine Welsh, author of Trainspotting, expressed his admiration for Oasis' performance at their Scottish premiere on August 8th. For feedback, the contact email is english@our website.
