Edel SE smashes records with €267.8M revenue and digital growth surge
Hamburg-based media group Edel SE & Co. KGaA has announced a record-breaking fiscal year for 2024/25. The company saw its net profit rise by 13.2%, reaching €13.0 million, while revenue climbed to €267.8 million. Growth was fuelled by strong digital sales and a steady demand for vinyl records. The company's financial success came from two key areas: digital expansion and physical media. Operating cash flow jumped from €12.6 million to €20.2 million, reflecting improved efficiency. Earnings per share also increased, rising from €0.52 to €0.60.
Digital revenues surged as Edel SE expanded its online distribution network. The company now plans to scale this network even further in the current fiscal year. Meanwhile, vinyl sales remained resilient, helping to stabilise distribution revenues despite shifts in the wider market.
In July 2025, Edel SE completed the acquisition of the remaining shares in Kontor Records GmbH. This move strengthened its foothold in electronic music, building on earlier investments. The music division, which includes Kontor New Media, performed particularly well, contributing significantly to overall growth. Edel SE's latest results highlight its ability to balance digital growth with traditional media. The acquisition of Kontor Records solidifies its position in electronic music, while rising profits and cash flow provide a strong foundation for future expansion. The company's focus on scaling digital distribution suggests further developments in the coming year.
