Echelon Racing League and USA Cycling Esports National Championships to utilize TrainingPeaks Virtual as their new platform
The Echelon Racing League (ERL) is set to return for its sixth season of virtual road racing this winter, kicking off on November 1, 2025. This year, the league will feature a calendar filled with various races, including One Day Classics and Stage Races.
The season will begin with the One Day Classics on November 1-2, 2025, followed by another edition on November 29-30. Riders can also look forward to a Stage Race from December 12-14, and another One Day Classics race on December 27-28. The season will culminate with the USA Cycling Esports National Championships on January 31 and February 1, 2026.
In a move aimed at promoting accessibility, Eric Hill, president of Project Echelon Promotions, has announced that this season will focus on collaborating with USA Cycling and ERL race promoters. The season will also showcase longer-format races, providing a more challenging and engaging experience for participants.
The Echelon Racing League serves as the national calendar for qualification at the US Esports Nationals. Riders wanting to participate in the National Championships will be required to have competed in at least one race in the Echelon Racing League.
In a significant change, sponsor merchandise will replace a cash purse for the League this year. This decision reflects the league's commitment to providing a more accessible and inclusive platform for riders.
The partnership between the Echelon Racing League and the USA Cycling Esports Nationals will be facilitated by TrainingPeaks Virtual, which will serve as the new virtual platform for both events. This partnership, lasting through 2028, begins on November 1, 2025, with the Echelon Racing League's sixth season and culminates with the National Championships on January 31 to February 1, 2026.
TrainingPeaks Virtual offers a realistic racing experience, including drafting and cornering, making it a good fit for the Echelon Racing League. The platform also boasts a new feature called GPXplore, which allows individuals to see routes virtually from their own GPX files.
The Echelon Racing League has seen success since its inception in 2020, with notable winners including Jay Vine (now with UAE Team Emirates-XRG) and Neve Bradbury (Canyon-SRAM zondacrypto). With the new season on the horizon, it remains to be seen who will emerge as the next champion.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Echelon Racing League's sixth season. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or a newcomer to the sport, there's never been a better time to get involved in virtual road racing.
