Bernie Ecclestone, the former Formula 1 boss, believes Mick Schumacher's career in the premier class has been hindered by being in the wrong hands, specifically at Haas F1 Team and Ferrari's academy.

Schumacher, the son of legendary former racer Michael Schumacher, had a challenging start in Formula 1. He joined Haas F1 Team in 2021 and struggled with performance, often finishing behind his teammate. Additionally, he was involved in several expensive crashes, causing frustration for the team.

Ecclestone expressed his belief that Schumacher would have thrived in a more supportive environment, such as Red Bull, where he could have been guided to the top. Schumacher's contract was not renewed after 2022, and he now serves as a simulator driver and test driver for Mercedes.

Despite these challenges, Schumacher remains determined to return to a full-time Formula 1 seat. In 2024, he will compete in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) with Alpine, seeking to showcase his skills and potentially earn another opportunity in Formula 1.

However, the WEC is a competitive series with powerful teams like Ferrari, Toyota, and Porsche. Schumacher is joining as a newcomer and will likely face a tough challenge. RTL racing expert Felix Görner noted that while it's a learning opportunity, Schumacher's expectations should not be too high given the strong competition.

Ecclestone's opinion on Schumacher's career trajectory has drawn interest, though it's unclear if his comments directly relate to specific instances or general observations. Despite the setbacks, Schumacher continues to chase his dream of returning to Formula 1, and his WEC tenure could provide the necessary platform for another chance in the premier class.
