EBay collaborates in a pioneering manner with Derek Jeter's electronic baseball card enterprise
Arena Club, a digital trading card company co-founded by Derek Jeter, has announced a partnership with eBay to launch weekly drops of their physical Slab Pack product. This partnership marks eBay as the exclusive online marketplace for these drops, which will be released every Wednesday.
The Slab Packs contain one graded physical card, chosen from a fully transparent checklist that includes rare and sought-after cards, known as "grails" and "thrilling chases." Each release series consists of 400 packs, priced at $250 each. The packs are housed in premium boxes adorned with Arena Club's signature design.
This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between traditional sports card collecting and the emerging digital collectibles space, reinforcing Arena Club's role as a "bridge" between these hobbies. Brian Lee, CEO of Arena Club, highlighted eBay's reputation as a trusted and innovative marketplace as a key reason for their partnership, leveraging eBay's leadership in the trading card market.
The partnership and product launch were formally announced and previewed at the 2025 National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago.
Derek Jeter, a six-time World Series champion and the sixth player on MLB's all-time hits list with 3,465, is also a co-founder of Arena Club. The company was established in 2022.
