Eastside TTC Initiative Aims for Success Through Execution of Three Key Projects
The women's table tennis team of TTC Berlin Eastside is gearing up for the new season with ambitions to be successful on all three fronts, as announced by club manager Jens Fetzner on the club's website.
Last season, the team, which often relied on a very young squad, managed to prevail in their match against TSV Dachau 1965 during the semifinals. The two teams will face each other once again in the opening match of the new season, scheduled for Sunday at 13:00.
The championship format has undergone a change, making the championship immediate in significance. From now on, only the top four teams in the points table will qualify for the playoffs, with every point in the championship counting towards the final standings.
The team's top duo, Nina Mittelham and Shan Xiaona, were not heavily utilized during the last season. However, the team has strengthened its top ranks in preparation for the new season. The impact of these strengthened top ranks on the team's performance remains to be seen.
The club manager, Andreas Hain, stated that the team aims to step up in the second half of the season. The team's strategy for the second half of the season has not been detailed as of yet.
Last season's champions, TTC Weinheim 1946, won the final against the team that TTC Berlin Eastside and TSV Dachau 1965 faced last season. The Berliners have not specified which fronts they consider as part of the "all three" aim.
As the new season begins, the women's table tennis team of TTC Berlin Eastside is ready to take on the challenges that lie ahead and strive for success in the Bundesliga.
