Eastern Conference finals: Knicks trail behind Pacers 0-2 in series
The Indiana Pacers have seized a commanding 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals of the 2025 NBA Playoffs, defeating the New York Knicks 114-109 in Game 2. This triumph comes following the Pacers' thrilling overtime victory in Game 1, where they edged out the Knicks by a score of 138-135.
Pascal Siakam led the charge for the Pacers, scoring a playoff career-high 39 points. Myles Turner added 16 points, while Tyrese Haliburton notched 14 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds. In contrast, Jalen Brunson tallied 36 points and 11 assists for the Knicks, who are now facing an uphill battle to avoid an early exit from their first conference finals appearance in 25 years.
The Pacers took a 19-9 lead early on, but the Knicks swiftly caught up when Deuce McBride and Mitchell Robinson entered the game. The scoring was tight for the remainder of the contest, with the Pacers managing to maintain a single-digit advantage for most of the game.
In the fourth quarter, the Pacers extended their lead to double digits, only for the Knicks to mount a comeback. With 14 seconds left on the clock, the Knicks narrowed the gap to one point, but Aaron Nesmith secured the victory for the Pacers with two free throws.
The 50th meeting between these long-time rivals resembled their defensive battles of the 1990s, as opposed to the high-scoring affair witnessed in Game 1.
