Easter 2026 waste collection changes disrupt WEZ schedules
The Recycling and Waste Disposal Center (WEZ) has announced changes to its opening hours and collection schedules over the Easter holidays. The facility will remain closed on Holy Saturday, April 4, affecting drop-offs and waste pickups. Residents are advised to check the updated timings for their routes. On Holy Saturday, April 4, the WEZ will not accept any bulky waste, recyclables, or hazardous materials. This closure comes as part of the Easter holiday adjustments for 2026.
Collection schedules have also shifted for several routes. Paper recycling bins on routes 1 to 3 will be emptied one day earlier than usual. Meanwhile, residual waste routes 1 to 10 and yellow bag routes 11 to 15, as well as 1 to 5, will experience delays or earlier pickups. The 2026 Waste Collection Calendar and the official Waste App now display the revised timings. Residents are reminded to place their containers or yellow bags out the evening before their scheduled collection to avoid missed pickups.
The adjustments mean no WEZ services will be available on April 4. Affected households should follow the updated calendar or app notifications to ensure their waste is collected. The changes apply only to the Easter period, with normal operations resuming afterwards.
