Earth Experiences Earthquakes in Pre-Dawn Hours: Nan Region Suffers Seismic Activities

yesterday morning, there were two quakes in Nan province, as per the Earthquake Observation Division of the Meteorological Department. These tremors, measuring 1.7 and 1.5 on the Richter scale, happened at 4.04am and 4.52am respectively, one kilometre underground in tambon Yap Hua Na, Wiang Sa district. Following a 3.0-magnitude earthquake on Wednesday in tambon Saira of Chawang district, Nakhon Si Thammarat, which had caused some damage at the Chawang Crown Prince Hospital.

As for Nakhon Si Thammarat, a 3.0 magnitude earthquake occurred on May 7, 2025, leading to cracks at the Chawang Crown Prince Hospital. Although details on the operational status of hospitals have not been disclosed, the infrastructure damage suggests potential disruptions. In addition, groundwater wells were damaged in several locations, but Kathun and Klong Din Daeng reservoirs in Phipun remained intact.

The situation in Nan seems to be less severe, with no major reports of hospital or infrastructure disruptions due to the minor tremors. However, precise details on hospital operations and any ongoing recovery efforts are currently limited.

In summary, while Nakhon Si Thammarat saw significant infrastructure damage, the current state of hospitals and infrastructure in Nan appears less impacted, but more specific information is required to confirm. Don't forget to file your insurance claims promptly if your property has been damaged during these incidents! 😈

  1. The science community and environmental-science experts are examining the impact of the earthquakes on both Nan province and Nakhon Si Thammarat.
  2. The weather forecast for the affected areas has not indicated any seismic activity in the coming days, but ongoing monitoring is crucial.
  3. Despite the minor earthquakes in Nan, it's essential to inspect the surrounding reservoirs, such as Wiang, for any potential seismic-related risks.
  4. Fortunately, the latest earthquake in Nan was confirmed to be below 2.0 on the Richter scale, unlike the previous quake in Nakhon Si Thammarat on May 7, 2025, which registered 3.0.
