"Each release of a sneak peek or brief taste of their upcoming song only heightens public frustration": Trivium set for early August debut of highly-anticipated new track
Trivium, the American heavy metal band known for their aggressive and energetic sound, are gearing up for the release of a new single in early August. This new music will be debuted live at the Bloodstock Open Air festival, taking place August 7-10, 2025.
The band's guitarist, Corey Beaulieu, has revealed that the new single will have the same "spirit" as Trivium’s 2005 album, Ascendancy. This suggests a return to the metalcore style that characterized that album, much to the delight of fans.
Trivium have been teasing new material on social media for some time, and the upcoming single is compared to the opening track on Ascendancy, Rain. The band has also been playing Ascendancy in full on tour since January, hinting at a continuation of the album's sound.
The new single is expected to release in the first week of August, just before Trivium's headline set at Bloodstock Open Air in the UK. Trivium will take the stage at Catton Hall, Derbyshire, on Friday, August 8.
Interestingly, Machine Head and Gojira will also be headlining Bloodstock Open Air on August 9 and 10, respectively. There have been rumours that Trivium may add the special-edition original songs from Ascendancy to their Bloodstock performance, but this has not been officially confirmed.
It's worth noting that Trivium haven't released new music since October 2021, when they put out their 10th album, In The Court Of The Dragon. The band's tour, initially promoted as a 'world tour', wrapped up in the spring prematurely, with Trivium bassist Paolo Gregoletto and guitarist Corey Beaulieu blaming Bullet For My Valentine's frontman Matt Tuck for the premature end of the tour on social media. Bullet For My Valentine put out a response, stating they were focusing on finishing their eighth studio album.
The new single is not the only new material Trivium have coming. According to Corey Beaulieu, this is just the beginning of a new era for the band. With their return to their roots and the promise of more new music, fans are eagerly awaiting what Trivium have in store for them.
