The upcoming week in Germany is set to bring a change in weather, with heavy rain and storm risks predicted, particularly in the Berlin and Brandenburg regions.

According to the German Weather Service (DWD), Monday (July 21, 2025) will see heavy and persistent rainfall, with possible thunderstorms in these areas. Rainfall amounts of up to 40 liters per square meter are expected from 2 p.m. until midnight. This has prompted a warning of potential flooding in cellars and streets, and road users are advised to exercise caution due to possible flooding and aquaplaning.

Meteorologist Sonja Stucke from the DWD predicts that the weekend (July 18-19, 2025) will be mostly cloudy with scattered rain. On Saturday, temperatures will range from 17 to 24 degrees Celsius, while on Sunday, they are expected to be slightly cooler, ranging from 17 to 22 degrees Celsius.

In northern Germany, windy conditions are anticipated due to a storm, with gusts reaching storm force at the coasts and in the high north. On the other hand, southern Germany will gradually return to summer conditions after Tuesday, with partly sunny conditions and rising temperatures.

Sunday will see scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms moving across Germany, with the west and southwest experiencing more sun and dry periods. A final cold front will move from northwest to southeast on Tuesday, marking the end of the cooler weather.

Meteorologist Stucke predicts that changes in the weather pattern are gradually expected at the beginning of next week.
