Dynamo suffers defeat at the hands of an underdog football club in Vladivostok, losing their Futsal match.
Footy matchdown in Vladivostok:
Veteran club "Dynamo" from Vladivostok took a surprise spilling to underdog newcomers "Forte" from Taganrog in a 0-1 defeat, as per PrimaMedia's report.
Before the showdown, the Vladivostok outfit secured a hard-fought triumph away at "Irtych" in Omsk, moving up to fourth spot in the standings. "Forte", on the other hand, was lingering near the bottom in 9th position. With their playoff chances on the line, the home team was desperate for a win. However, the absence of their head coach Mikhail Salnikov, who was serving a one-match ban, complicated matters for them. His second-in-command, Albert Lukmanov, led the team in his absence.
Despite the pleasant sunshine in Vladivostok, rain dissolved the festive atmosphere at the start of the match.
In the middle of the opening half, "Dynamo" had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock, but Alexei Bayev's header sailed wide. Post that, "Forte" stepped up their attacking efforts. Ilya Shvedyuk and Nikita Muromsky missed their chances, while Timur Nikolaev couldn't capitalize on a corner.
In the second half, "Forte" ramped up the pressure and scored the decisive goal in the 80th minute. Maxim Kolmakov took full advantage of a rebound after Sergei Kochkanyan's effort was saved by the goalkeeper.
Following the defeat, "Dynamo" coach Albert Lukmanov extended an apology to the disappointed fans. "I must admit we didn't show up today. The reasons for our dismal performance will need to be examined. I sincerely apologize to our supporters who braved the rain to cheer us on," Lukmanov said.
The victorious "Forte" coach Eduard Sarkisov spoke about their grueling journey to Vladivostok. The team had embarked on their adventure on May Day and arrived only six hours prior to the game.
"The travel was exhausting - we covered long distances without taking a break. We arrived in Vladivostok with no proper rest, hence the chaotic nature of our play. Despite that, I'm proud of the character displayed by my players. They buckled down and delivered an excellent result," Sarkisov added.
