Former Dynamo Moscow Player Alexander Tochilin Shares Expectations for RPL Round 23 Clash with Orenburg
Dynamo Moscow braces for high-stakes RPL showdown with Orenburg
Alexander Tochilin, a former Dynamo Moscow footballer, has weighed in on the upcoming Russian Premier League (RPL) Round 23 match, where the Moscow side will face Orenburg. Despite the gap in the league standings, Tochilin believes the White-and-Blues are in for a tough challenge.
He noted that since appointing a new head coach, Orenburg have shown marked improvement and are now fighting tooth and nail to avoid relegation. Tochilin recalled that the team has already pulled off an upset by defeating Zenit—a match in which many had written them off before kickoff.
"Orenburg have found new energy under their new manager and are battling hard to stay in the RPL, so Dynamo shouldn't expect an easy ride," Tochilin told Sport-Express.
At the same time, the pundit emphasized that Dynamo must bounce back from their recent loss to Zenit and return to winning ways. He also highlighted that the Moscow club has a crucial Russian Cup tie against Krasnodar on the horizon, raising the question of whether the coaching staff might opt to rest some key players. The match between Dynamo Moscow and Orenburg will take place on April 4 at VTB Arena, with kickoff scheduled for 5:30 PM Moscow time.
