Dutch Striker Vincent Vermeij Joins Dynamo Dresden

Vincent Vermeij, a 31-year-old Dutch professional footballer, has joined Dynamo Dresden from Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 2. Bundesliga. The 1.95m tall striker brings a wealth of experience to the German club, having played in various tiers of the Dutch and German leagues.

A Career Spanning Multiple Leagues

Vermij's career began at HSV Zuidvogels in the Netherlands, before he moved to MSV Duisburg and SC Freiburg II. In Freiburg's U23 team, he scored 26 goals in 64 games. From Freiburg to Dresden

In August 2025, Vermeij moved from Fortuna Düsseldorf to Dynamo Dresden for a reported transfer fee of about €250,000. This move reunites him with Thomas Stamm, Dynamo's head coach, with whom he had worked at SC Freiburg II. Stamm describes Vermeij as an "absolute team player" who will enhance Dresden’s squad.

Boost to Dynamo Dresden's Attack

Dynamo Dresden's sporting director, Thomas Brendel, highlighted Vermeij's experience in the 2. Bundesliga and his proven quality in multiple leagues beyond it. He emphasized Vermeij's height and technical ability as assets expected to add offensive power to the team. The signing is viewed as a significant boost to Dynamo Dresden’s attack in the 2. Bundesliga for the 2025 season, aiming to leverage Vermeij’s proven scoring ability and experience at this competition level.

Vermij has played a total of 79 games in the Eredivisie, scoring 19 goals. He has also played in the third tier and the second tier in the Netherlands, as well as once in the Bundesliga for SC Freiburg. Vermeij has played 50 games in the second tier, scoring 13 goals, and 120 games in the third tier, scoring 48 goals.

Vermeij was born on August 9, 1994, in Blaricum, the Netherlands. The transfer details between Dynamo Dresden and Fortuna Düsseldorf have been kept private.
