Dynamo Dresden welcomes back Hartmann
Marco Hartmann, a former Dynamo player and captain, is set to return to the club after a two-year absence. The club announced Hartmann's appointment as the leader of Dynamo's youth performance center on Tuesday afternoon.
Hartmann's tenure with Dynamo spanned eight years, during which he played a total of 146 games. His football career with Dynamo was marked by longevity and significant achievements. Hartmann won two promotions and a third division championship with the team. He also scored 17 goals during his time at Dynamo.
Hartmann's football career with Dynamo was also marked by leadership, as he was the team's captain for many years. His return to the club is a testament to his commitment to Dynamo and its development.
Ralf Becker, Dynamo's sports director, is delighted about Hartmann's appointment. "Marco has a deep understanding of our club and its values," Becker said. "His experience as a player and his passion for Dynamo make him an ideal choice to lead our youth performance center."
Hartmann will start supporting and advising youth players in January 2024, and will officially take over as head of the youth performance center on July 1, 2024. He is currently completing a teaching internship at the Dresden sports school.
Jan Seifert, the previous youth leader, has resigned after nine years in the position. Hartmann's appointment comes at an important time for Dynamo's youth development, as the club looks to build on its successes and continue to produce talented young players.
