In a scathing open letter to National Security Adviser Eduardo Anо, she demands explanations and wants to see the meeting minutes since June 2022. She's miffed that she hasn't been invited to a single meeting and ain't about to hold her peace.
"Give me the minutes of every meeting you've held since June 2022, if there even are any," she penned. "I want to know what the Council's accomplished. I've been a member since '86, and I ain't seen the progress we should be making," she snarled.
The Vice President isn't taking the quietly-into-that-good-night approach. She demands written justification within 24 hours, explaining why she's been excluded, or why she ain't been invited, whichever applies. "Stand up for transparency and accountability, NSC members," she challenged. "The Filipino people deserve it."
The beef between Duterte and current President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. runs deep. It all escalated in June when Duterte stepped down as Marcos' Education Secretary and started slamming his administration left and right. Their fissure over national security concerns came to a head when Duterte publicly threatened to off Marcos, his First Lady, and Speaker Martin Romualdez.
