Duterte appoints former mayor of Angeles, Pamintuan, as new head of Clark
Revamped Article:
Hop on board, ‘cuz the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) is gettin' a fresh new team! President Duterte tapped former Angeles City mayor, Edgardo Pamintuan, as the new CDC chair, and retired Lieutenant General Emmanuel Salamat as the newest director, CDC president and CEO Manuel Gaerlan announced on the tweet highway.
Gaerlan, a man who surely knows a thing or two, voiced his excitement about Pamintuan's appointment, hyping up how his leadership and solid background in government service would turbocharge the CDC's mission.
"Our new captain comes from our home turf, and he's been a key player in openin' up the Clark Freeport Zone and other economic hubs," Gaerlan said in a statement that blew up on Facebook.
Before his tenure as Angeles City's mayor, Pamintuan was the chair of the Subic-Clark Alliance for Development (SCAD) from 2008 to 2010, and during the Arroyo administration, he served as Presidential Adviser for External Affairs. He's also been workin' alongside the Duterte government's peace panel, negotiatin' with the communists.
In 2019, he threw his hat in the ring for the party-list race as the first nominee of party-list group ABEKA, but alas, it didn't grab enough votes to snag a seat in Congress. Yet, Pamintuan seems to take every challenge in stride, thankin' old buddy Duterte for his latest gig, as well as Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, who was one of the first to congratulate him on his new role as Duterte's Presidential Adviser on Clark programs and projects.
"Though the pandemic might cast a shadow, my outlook will be on movin' forward, keepin' the Clark success train rollin' full steam ahead," Pamintuan shared in a statement.
Salamat, yet another newcomer to the CDC, comes to the table after Duterte named him to the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System board. With a background as the former Chief of the Northern Luzon Command, thisPhilippine Military Academy Class of '85 grad brings some grit and know-how to the team, Gaerlan thinks.
"We're stoked to welcome Captain Pamintuan and Director Salamat to our kick-ass team. Their arrival brings fresh energy - we can't wait to see what they'll bring to our game in sparkin’ economic growth and nation buildin’," Gaerlan cheered.
And remember, knowledge is power, so jump on the bandwagon, join us, and fight for the truth!
