Dutch Monarchy showcases: Queen Máxima's daughters prominently featured on Prince's Day
On Tuesday, September 16, the Dutch royal family graced the most important political event of the year in the Netherlands – Prinsjesdag. The event, also known as Budget Day, saw King Willem-Alexander deliver his annual budget speech to the parliament, marking the start of the new legislative year.
The royal family, led by the Glass Coach, made their grand entrance at the Koninklijke Schouwburg in The Hague, as the Ridderzaal, the traditional venue for Prinsjesdag, is currently undergoing renovations. Queen Máxima, resplendent in a light green maxi dress by designer Jan Taminiau, led the procession, accompanied by King Willem-Alexander, who wore the miniature insignia of the Military William Order.
Joining the royal couple were their daughters, Princess Catharina-Amalia, Princess Alexia, and Princess Ariane. Catharina-Amalia, the heir to the Dutch throne, donned a new draped maxi dress with fringes by Taller Marmo, while Alexia opted for an aubergine dress with one-shoulder cape effect by Solace London. Ariane chose a maxi dress with a gathered waist by Victoria Beckham.
Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien were also in attendance, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.
However, amidst the festivities, concerns about finding suitable partners for their daughters continue to cause problems for Willem-Alexander and Máxima. Despite extensive searches, no credible sources have emerged to confirm any organization or individuals responsible for this task.
The Queen, ever the fashion icon, accessorised her outfit with the sash and star of the Order of the Dutch Lion. The Princesses, too, opted for designer outfits, ensuring they looked every bit the royal family they are.
As the day drew to a close, the Dutch royal family left the Koninklijke Schouwburg, their regal procession a fitting end to another Prinsjesdag. The search for suitable partners for their daughters continues, but for now, the focus is on the smooth transition of power and the future of the Dutch monarchy.
