Title Defense Champion Dustin Johnson Serves Up Elegant Feast at Masters Champions Dinner
Though his preparation time is more restricted than most, Dustin Johnson, the defending champion of the Masters, has revealed his plans for the Grand Menu at the Masters Champions Dinner 2021.
Despite jokingly stating his favorite tradition at the exclusive Augusta National club was sandwiches, Johnson opted for something more refined for this prestigious occasion.

Johnson shared the details of his extravagant menu on his social media platforms, announcing that guests will indulge on pig in a blanket, lobster, and corn fritters as appetizers.
Following, he opted for a classic Caesar salad or garden salad to begin their meal. Prime filet mignon was the main course, paired with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables, or for seafood lovers, miso marinated sea bass served with ginger soy glaze riced cauliflower.
Apple pie and peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream were saved for dessert. In a post showcasing his menu, Johnson mused "Almost as good as a sandwich!"
Tiger Woods, who previously served burritos and sushi in 2019, will be unable to attend the event as he continues to recover from a car accident in January 2021.
"I'll miss Dustin's dinner tonight at the Masters Champions Dinner. It's still one of my favorite evenings of the year," Woods wrote on Twitter.
Fred Couples, 1992 Masters champion, who usually plays practice rounds with Woods before major championships, also expressed his disappointment.
"I'll be missing you tonight at the dinner," Couples tweeted.
The Masters Champions Dinner, an exclusive event held before the tournament for past champions and Augusta National Presidents, is usually announced several days before the tournament, which begins April 8 this year.
The dinner takes place in the Augusta National Clubhouse and has been a tradition since its introduction by Ben Hogan in 1952. The tournament champion of the previous year has the honor of designing the menu, which often reflects their national cuisine.
As Woods returned as a defending champion after his epochal crushing victory in 1997, he served cheeseburgers, french fries, and milkshakes. Woods chose Porterhouse steak for the 2002 and 2003 dinners.
Bernhard Langer, the German champion in 1986, served Wiener Schnitzel. Nick Faldo, the English champion in 1997, opted for the traditional fish and chips. Scottish champion Sandy Lyle, donning a kilt, served Haggis in 1989.
Canadian Mike Weir served elk, wild boar, and sea bass in 2004, while Charlesshortel, the South African champion in 2012, served a South African barbecue with chakalaka sauce.
"No monkeys or testicles," Schwartzel joked during a press conference at Augusta.
