DüsseldorfAnnounces: Famous Vocalists Bestow Blessing for 2025

In the heart of Düsseldorf, the Sternsingers are preparing for their annual visit, spreading blessings and raising awareness for children's rights. This year, the Sternsinger action is themed "Raise your voice! - Sternsingen for children's rights".

From January 3rd to 12th, the Sternsingers will be visiting various neighbourhoods across the city, including Flingern, Derendorf, Pempelfort, Mörsenbroich, Rath, Kaiserswerth, Angermund, Wittlaer, Heerdt, Niederkassel, Oberkassel, Altstadt, Lörick, Benrath, and Kalkum. Appointments can be made via the website www.dem-leben-dienen.de.

The Sternsingers will participate in masses at several churches, such as St. Andreas, St. Maria vom Frieden, St. Paulus, St. Katharina, St. Margareta, and St. Ursula. In St. Maria vom Frieden, the blessing stickers will be laid out and a donation box will be set up on Sunday, January 5th at 8 am for the mass.

On Saturday, January 4th, there will be a "hotspot" on the parking lot at Hubbelrath cemetery, and the send-off for the Sternsingers of St. Reinold will be held at 6 pm in St. Reinold, Pastor-Finke-Weg 1. In Hubbelrath, the Sternsingers will be visiting homes from Friday, January 3rd to Sunday, January 5th.

In some areas, the Sternsingers will be visiting homes, such as Mörsenbroich and Rath on Sundays, January 12th and 19th in the afternoon, by prior appointment. The Sternsingers of St. Ursula will be visiting homes on Sunday, January 12th after their send-off at 9:30 am in St. Ursula, Margaretenstraße 1.

Children dressed as the three wise men will be bringing blessings and asking for donations in Düsseldorf. The "C+M+B" in the chalk mark or sticker left by the Sternsinger stands for the Latin translation of "Christ bless this house".

The Sternsingers' donation collection aims to strengthen children's rights worldwide and promote their implementation. It is important to note that 160 million children have to work, many of whom are exploited, and 250 million children, especially girls, do not attend school worldwide. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child has been in effect for 35 years.

A joint service with the Sternsingers and the Ghanaian community will take place on Sunday, January 5th at 11 am in the Holy Trinity Church, Jülicher Straße 50. This event highlights the global nature of the Sternsingers' mission and their commitment to promoting children's rights.

In addition to their visits and masses, the Sternsingers in Kalkum begin collecting donations precisely at 9:30 AM. They will be active from 9 am to 4:30 pm on Saturday, January 11th. In St. Andreas church in the Altstadt, the Sternsinger's blessing stickers will be available from Monday (6.1.).

In Heerdt and Niederkassel, the Sternsinger will be out on Saturday (11.1.) and participate in the evening mass at 6:15 PM in the church St. Benediktus, Alt Heerdt 1.

The Sternsingers will attend the Holy Mass at 12 PM on Saturday (4.1.) in St. Andreas, Andreasstraße 10. They will also participate in masses at St. Lambertus, St. Suitbertus, St. Remigius, and St. Agnes on Saturday and Sunday in Angermund and Wittlaer.
