Düren's city library closes for Easter but keeps digital doors open

The city library in Düren will shut its doors for four days during the Easter break. From April 3 to April 6, 2026, visitors will not be able to access the building. However, digital services will remain available throughout the closure. The temporary shutdown begins on Friday, April 3, and lasts until Monday, April 6. During this period, the physical library will be completely closed to the public.

Those looking for books, audiobooks, or music can still use online options. Streaming platforms like Filmfriend and Freegal will be accessible, along with the library's digital collection at www.stadtbuecherei.ourwebsite. The library has not released specific figures on its own digital offerings, but similar services in nearby towns provide thousands of titles. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, April 7, at 12:00. From then on, the library will return to its usual opening hours.

The Easter closure affects only the physical location, leaving digital services unaffected. Patrons can continue borrowing materials online until the library reopens on April 7. No further disruptions to the schedule have been announced.
