Duplass Brothers Productions Collaborates with Giant Pictures for the Launch of Comedic Film 'Paper Marriage' - Brief Film Updates
The American Cinema Editors (ACE) is set to recognise a diverse range of achievements in the world of film and digital content at the 76th Annual ACE Awards.
This year, digital content is eligible for awards in all categories, marking a significant step forward in acknowledging the growing influence of digital media in storytelling.
One of the highly anticipated films at the awards is "Paper Marriage," a modern marriage of convenience, produced by Angela Park. The film, set to be released on streaming platforms on September 16, stars Jeff Man, Effy Han, Grace Song, Yosilu Chen, Rob Nagle, Michael Man, Ursula Man, and Will Dowsett. Jeff Man is also the lead, writer, and director of the film.
Mark Duplass, Jay Duplass, and Mel Eslyn serve as executive producers for "Paper Marriage." The film is a new feature-length comedy that promises to bring laughter and entertainment to audiences.
In a special recognition, ACE will present YouTube with the Visionary Award. This honour is given to individuals or organisations that have made significant contributions to the field of editing and storytelling.
Meanwhile, the American French Film Festival is gearing up for its annual event, taking place from October 28 to November 3. Rebecca Zlotowski's "A Private Life," starring Jodie Foster, will open the festival.
The festival also hosts the Recreations Contest, a celebration of cinematic creativity designed to inspire and educate filmmakers, photographers, and visual storytellers. Participants are challenged to recreate a shot from their favourite film, series, music video, or commercial found on ShotDeck.
ShotDeck has opened submissions for their 2025 Recreations Contest and will accept entries from September 1 through September 30. Each shot has to be achieved in-camera and refrain from the use of AI or computer-generated imagery.
Over $125,000 in prizes will be awarded to winners in various categories.
In addition, the ACE Awards will introduce a new competitive category for the Best Edited Short. This prize will honour exceptional editing in short form storytelling.
The 76th Annual ACE Awards will take place on February 27 in Royce Hall at the University of California, Los Angeles. It promises to be an exciting event, showcasing the best of film and digital content from the past year.
