VfB Stuttgart Part Ways with Loanees Rieder and Touré

Two loan players, Fabian Rieder and El Bilal Touré, are bidding farewell to DFB Cup champions VfB Stuttgart as they return to their parent clubs, Stade Rennes and Atalanta Bergamo.

The versatile midfielder Rieder spent last season at Stuttgart, making 21 appearances in the Bundesliga. A notable achievement for him was his impressive performance against Young Boys Bern in the Champions League, contributing to a 5-1 victory where he provided three assists. Sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth commended Rieder, stating, "Rieder adapted quickly and showcased his abilities in 33 competitive matches."

Tragically, Touré had to cut his stint short due to a metatarsal injury. Prior to his injury, the young striker scored the match-winning goal against Juventus Turin, marking Stuttgart’s first Champions League win in 14 years. Wohlgemuth praised him, asserting, "Tourè was an integral part of our attack."

As both players bid adieu, Stuttgart does not plan to offer them permanent deals and instead will be sending them back to their respective clubs. Stuttgart is actively preparing for the upcoming season, having secured a spot in European competition by winning the DFB Pokal. The club is now focusing on other transfer targets, such as Bayern Munich's Paul Wanner.

The duo’s contributions were instrumental in Stuttgart's successful campaign, culminating in the club's DFB Pokal triumph. Both players received public acknowledgment from the club for their dedication and time spent in Stuttgart’s jersey, reflecting the positive impact they had during their tenure.
