Departure of Loan Players Touré and Rieder from VfB Stuttgart - Duo Touré and Rieder bid farewell from VfB Stuttgart football club
VfB Stuttgart announce departures of Fabian Rieder and El Bilal Touré
Two high-profile loanees, Fabian Rieder and El Bilal Touré, are departing DFB Cup champions VfB Stuttgart to return to their parent clubs - Stade Rennes and Atalanta Bergamo respectively.
After a successful debut with the German club, Rieder, a Swiss midfielder, will be heading back to France. He made 21 appearances in the Bundesliga, with one of his standout moments coming against Young Boys Bern in the Champions League, where he scored three assists against his former team. Commenting on the departure, sporting director, Fabian Wohlgemuth, praised Rieder's rapid integration and the quality he displayed in 33 competitive games.
Touré, on the other hand, has struggled with a metatarsal injury during his time in Stuttgart. However, his contribution cannot be overlooked, especially his goal against Juventus Turin that secured Stuttgart their first win in the Champions League in 14 years. Wohlgemuth viewed the 23-year-old attacker as an important asset before his return to Atalanta in Italy's Serie A.
