Duo Sven Zurawka and Drilon Asani assume leadership at ASV Neumarkt
A Fresh Spin on the Youthful Coaching Duo of ASV Neumarkt
Stepping into the footballing scene of the Bayernligist ASV Neumarkt for the 2025/2026 season are 29-year-old head coach Sven Zurawka and his 30-year-old assistant coach Drilon Asani. The youthful duo was officially welcomed to the ASV sports center on Wednesday evening by game leader Michael Schmidt, sports director Stefan Pröpster, and department leaders Maximilian Gnus and Manfred Braun. They are set to invite their new team to training on June 15, followed by a week of intensive work at a training camp.
New Blood in Rain am Lech
Hailing from the Stuttgart region, Zurawka's football journey began as a central defender for Stuttgart-Münster in the Landesliga. A change of locale to Großmehring near Ingolstadt led to a shift in focus to coaching, where Zurawka held the A license. For four years, he served as an assistant coach for the U21 of FC Ingolstadt 04 before taking on the role of head coach for Süd-Bayernligist TSV Rain am Lech for the past year. Coincidentally, Zurawka has already crossed paths with some of the current ASV Neumarkt squad members during his Ingolstadt tenure in the penultimate season. "I've been extensively analyzing the ASV squad, and while there are still some positions to be filled, we'll address that in the next one or two weeks," Zurawka stated. When asked about the departure of goalkeeper Nick Guttenberger, he assured, "I'm completely at ease about that. I trust Stefan Pröpster to find an adequate replacement."
Analyzing Success with ASV Neumarkt
While still fresh in the world of football management, Drilon Asani's familiarity with several clubs in the Neumarkt area stems from coaching stints in the youth sector at ASV Neumarkt and SV Seligenporten. Most recently, Asani was head coach of TSV Meckenhausen. However, Asani's unique expertise lies in his three-year stint at FC Bayern Munich as a video analyst, working alongside VfB Stuttgart's current coach, Sebastian Hoeneß. Asani is set to bring that analytical prowess to ASV Neumarkt. Sports director Stefan Pröpster expresses his enthusiasm, stating, "We've landed a harmonious, ambitious duo that fits perfectly with the eagles. Both are football-crazed in the best sense—that aligns with our philosophy."
Young Coaches with a Shared Vision
Coaches, much like their players, must develop a style of play that suits their team. Zurawka and Asani's shared passion for intensive youth work, clear playing ideas, and meticulous preparation ensures a united approach to managing the ASV Neumarkt team. They've yet to express a season goal, but their combined enthusiasm and professional backgrounds provide a strong foundation for potential success. With the upcoming season's anticipation palpable, it remains to be seen how the youthful, ambitious coaching duo of Sven Zurawka and Drilon Asani will lead ASV Neumarkt to new heights.
Sports-analysis will be an integral part of Sven Zurawka's approach as he prepares for the new season with ASV Neumarkt, having extensively analyzed the squad and identified areas for improvement.
Drilon Asani's tenure at FC Bayern Munich as a video analyst equips him with unique analytical skills that he plans to leverage in his role as assistant coach for ASV Neumarkt, focusing on enhancing the team's performance through detailed analysis.
