Fast forward a week, and a 28-year-old was knocked down cold in front of a bar. The cowardly perpetrators continued to kick him until he passed out. Hospital visit No. 2 for the poor guy. When two bystanders tried to help, they too became victims, sustaining minor injuries at the hands of the assailants.
Cops Close In
Investigators connected this string of attacks to an incident in mid-May, where another 26-year-old was attacked in the same way. All three incidents occurred early Saturday mornings, on the same street, with descriptions of the attackers matching.
After interviewing witnesses, a 24-year-old and two 20-year-olds were zeroed in as the main suspects.
The cops nabbed the 24-year-old and one 20-year-old on Friday and searched their homes for evidence, keeping their lips sealed about the findings. A judge issued warrants for the pair's arrest, but the third suspect was let off the hook, and the authorities aren't talking about why. The reason for the attacks is still a mystery, the police spokesperson admits.
