MSV Director Chris Schmoldt expressed optimism about Hartwig's upcoming season with VfL Bochum. "Luis returns to his familiar surroundings to gain important playing experience in the Regionalliga. We'll keep an eye on his development," he said in a press release. Whether Hartwig will remain with VfL Bochum or return to MSV Duisburg after his loan term remains uncertain. The young striker will have the freedom to make his own decisions regarding his future following the completion of the 2025/26 season.

Intriguingly, Female striker Malek Fakhro is rumored to be interested in a return to Bochum, according to preliminary reports. Fakhro and Hartwig were teammates at 1. FC Bocholt before joining MSV Duisburg alongside Coach Dietmar Hirsch prior to the season. If Fakhro does secure a move to Bochum, she could potentially face Hartwig in the fourth-division games next year.
