Duisburg, Germany: Emerging Jiu-Jitsu Star Leni Chilla Aims for World Championship Debut

Twelve-year-old Leni Chilla, a resident of Meiderich, Duisburg, has been making waves in the world of Jiu-Jitsu. Her exceptional talent has earned her numerous top positions, most recently the West German and German titles.

Leni's international debut in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was at the European Championships held in Cyprus, where she clinched a bronze medal in the U-16 category. Now, she eyes a ticket to the World Championships, though the specific route remains uncertain, potentially involving stops in Erbach, Chemnitz, and Thailand.

Bronze at EM debut: Twelve-year-old from Duisburg celebrates

In her quest for the West German title, Leni overcame two opponents in the U-14 category with a choke hold at the West German Championships. At the German Championships, she fought and subdued three opponents in similar fashion, with the third fight extending the full distance before Leni emerged victorious by points.

Currently, Leni and her family are waiting anxiously for a decision from the German Jiu-Jitsu Association regarding her qualification for the World Championships in Thailand. The national coach is expected to announce his team soon.
