Due to the arrangement, automobiles are restricted from accessing the Wolfenbütteler city centre on Sundays.
On Sunday, September 21, 2025, the MTV Wolfenbüttel City Run will take place in the heart of the city. To ensure a smooth event, several changes to the city's traffic flow will be implemented.
During the run, parking garages within the city centre will be inaccessible. Passengers are kindly requested to use the "Kornmarkt" and "Bahnhofstraße" stops instead of "Schlossplatz" and "Schulwall". Similarly, the "Finanzamt" stop will be replaced by "Gebrüder-Welger-Straße" for the duration of the run.
Access to the city centre will be restricted at specific points. These include Lange Straße before the junction with Harztorwall, the intersection of Lindener Straße / Juliusmarkt / Marktstraße in the direction of Marktstraße, the intersection of Grüner Platz / Neuer Weg in the direction of Am Herzogtore, the intersection of Halchtersche Straße / Goslarsche Straße / Im Kalten Tal in the direction of Bahnhofstraße, and Dr.-Heinrich-Jasper-Straße behind the junction with Lauenstraße.
The city centre will be closed to through traffic from 8 am to approximately 4 pm to protect the runners. Stewards, in agreement with the police, will be deployed at these closures to ensure smooth traffic management.
The start and finish lines of the runs will be set up on the Schlossplatz. It is essential that all road users observe these closures and follow the instructions of the police and stewards.
For public transportation, lines 630 and 794 will run via Bahnhofstraße - Goslarsche Straße - Gebrüder-Welger-Straße during the city run.
The administration kindly asks for mutual consideration from all road users and residents. They also appeal for understanding regarding the changed traffic situation. If possible, drivers are asked to avoid the area.
