Dubai weather forecast: Rain on the horizon offers relief following yesterday's scorching heat exceeding 50°C
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) in the United Arab Emirates has issued a weather forecast for August 1, 2025, predicting fair to partly cloudy conditions with a chance of convective cloud formation eastward and southward, potentially associated with rainfall.
According to the forecast, the weather will be generally fair to partly cloudy on Friday. However, there is a chance of convective cloud formation in the eastern and southern regions, which may lead to rainfall. This weather pattern is expected to be accompanied by a risk of dense fog early in the morning, particularly over some coastal and internal western areas. The visibility may be reduced from around 2:30 AM to 8:30 AM.
Winds will be light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly, freshening at times during the day with speeds between 10-25 km/hr, reaching up to 40 km/hr. These winds may cause occasional blowing dust.
The sea conditions are expected to be slight in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Oman Sea.
Temperature-wise, some areas in Abu Dhabi such as Sweihan and Gasyoura are expected to reach highs of 49°C. Abu Dhabi city itself may have lows around 34°C. Dubai temperatures will peak around 46°C with lows near 35°C. The general region is under a peak summer heat period called Al Mirzam, with extreme heat expected to persist until at least August 10.
In summary, the NCM forecast is for very hot and humid conditions with some chance of rainfall east and south, fog during early morning hours, and moderate to fresh hot winds causing dust. It is advisable for residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and follow any safety guidelines issued by the authorities.
