Dubai initiates charitable project, in remembrance of a late royal brother, by Sheikh Hamdan.

In a significant step towards global humanitarian efforts, Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan has unveiled the Rashid Villages project in Kenya. The initiative, named after the late Sheikh Rashid, aims to provide underprivileged families worldwide with housing, education, healthcare, and social services.

The first phase of Rashid Villages will be established on a 7.2-hectare plot in Kenya, featuring fully furnished homes, a mosque, a multi-purpose hall, endowment-based commercial outlets, and paved streets. The Kenyan Rashid Village will follow sustainable principles, including the use of renewable energy sources.

At the heart of the project is a health center offering medical care, preventive services, and health education. The center will be supported by robust sanitation systems and water tanks, ensuring access to essential healthcare services for the community.

The Rashid Villages project collaborates with international health organizations and development agencies to improve medical services for children and families. In addition, the initiative will work closely with leading international humanitarian organizations to strengthen healthcare services, particularly for children and families.

Residents will receive first aid and preventive care training to build local capacity and foster a safer, healthier, and more sustainable community. The project also includes a football pitch and a sports academy to empower youth.

Education is another key focus of the Rashid Villages project. The Rashid Education Project, in partnership with the Digital School under MBRGI, will provide quality learning for children through a digital system and a modern school. The project aims to serve around 1,700 people and provide vocational training and micro-enterprise support for families.

Commercial outlets in the Kenyan Rashid Village are intended to boost economic activity and provide sustainable income for residents. The initiative will feature modern infrastructure, including fire alarm systems, surveillance cameras, and solar-powered lighting networks, ensuring the safety and security of the community.

Sheikh Hamdan reflected on his brother's enduring legacy, stating that his brother's impact will remain alive through Dubai's humanitarian projects and initiatives. The Rashid Villages initiative plans to expand annually, constructing a new model village each year to honour the humanitarian legacy of the late Sheikh Rashid.

The Rashid Villages project does not appear to be directly related to the UAE Villages project or the donation for a hospital mentioned in the "ALSO READ" section. However, it continues the tradition of generosity and compassion that Sheikh Rashid was known for, transforming lives in a lasting way, bringing back hope, providing a foundation for dignity, and reaffirming that generosity is a way of life in Dubai.
