Preparing for a Safer Eid Al Adha: Dubai's Comprehensive Security and Transportation Plan

This year, Dubai is pulling out all the stops to guarantee a secure, hassle-free, and joyous Eid Al Adha experience for all its residents and visitors. Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Acting Chairperson of Dubai's Event Security Committee, has announced an extensive security and transportation plan, combining efforts from various government entities.

Al Mazroui revealed that security operations will extend to all mosques and extensive prayer grounds, backed by an army of patrols and support units. Expect to see 515 security patrols, 52 bicycle patrols, and 130 civil defense vehicles cruising the city. 139 ambulatory points, two helicopters, five rescue boats, and four command rooms are also ready to be deployed across Dubai.

To tackle traffic during the holiday rush, the Roads and Transport Authority is teaming up with the Event Security Committee. The transportation plan will see over 16,000 luxury limousines, nearly 14,000 taxis, 1,240 buses, and 104 metro trains in operation. Seven transport control centers will be established to monitor traffic, while traffic diversion units and marine transport vehicles will be on standby to navigate any unexpected issues.

Healthcare readiness is also a top priority. A total of 18 hospitals and clinics have been put on standby and coordinated by a central health operations center to handle any health-related incidents during Eid Al Adha.

Al Mazroui stressed the importance of using the emergency number 999 for genuine emergencies and 901 for non-urgent matters. He also encouraged the public to report any violations through the Dubai Police 'Police Eye' platform.

Emphasizing public safety, Al Mazroui issued warnings against reckless driving, specifically speeding, and urged jet ski users to steer clear of family zones along the beaches. He also urged parents to supervise their children in public areas and warned against the use of fireworks, citing the risk of serious injuries and fire hazards.

To add to the festive atmosphere, Dubai Police will organize sports competitions for workers in areas such as Jebel Ali and Al Quoz during the first two evenings of Eid Al Adha.

The Event Security Committee reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a secure and enjoyable Eid Al Adha celebration for everyone.

So there you have it - Dubai is fully prepared for a festive and safe Eid Al Adha this year, with robust security measures and efficient transportation plans in place. Happy celebrating, everyone!
