Dua Lipa clarifies white dress incident
Dua Lipa Addresses Controversy Over Revealing White Wedding Guest Dress
Pop star Dua Lipa has addressed the controversy surrounding her white wedding guest dress at the recent nuptials of designer Simon Porte Jacquemus and Marco Maestri. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, Lipa clarified that the dress code for the wedding was white, and the designer himself requested that she wear the controversial dress.
The dress in question was a sheer white number with a mermaid skirt, cap sleeves, and 3D flower accents. Lipa accessorized the outfit with a black handbag and white flower earrings. Despite the revealing nature of the dress, Lipa felt great in it and still talks fondly about the experience.
Lipa explained that everyone else at the wedding was also wearing white, so she did not understand the criticism. She highlighted that the controversy might have been due to the revealing design of the dress. However, she emphasized that she did not intentionally break the dress code.
The controversy over Lipa's dress was reported by PEOPLE Magazine, with many commenting on the singer's choice to wear white to someone else's wedding, which is traditionally seen as a fashion faux pas. However, Lipa expressed that she loved the dress and felt unforgettable in it.
The wedding took place in 2022, and it remains one of Lipa's most memorable experiences. As the singer of the hit song "Levitating," Lipa continues to make headlines for her fashion choices and music career.
