Unraveling the Access Saga: Nnamdi Kanu's Legal Team and the DSS
DSS Not Verifying Access Denial to Nnamdi Kanu Claims Agabi Counters Ejimakor's Assertion
In an unexpected twist, it appears there may have been a misunderstanding regarding Nnamdi Kanu's access to his lead defense lawyer, Chief Kanu Agabi, as reported by our site.
One of Kanu's counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, alleged via his X handle on Monday that Agabi was denied access to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja. However, during the resumed hearing on Wednesday, Agabi himself dismissed this claim.
When questioned by Justice James Omotosho about Ejimakor's statement, Agabi stated that there was no denial of access. He explained that there had been a mix-up in arrangements to see Kanu, with key members of his team unavailable at the scheduled time.
According to The Nation, Ejimakor had initially claimed that Agabi was angry due to being denied access to Kanu when they spoke on the phone. However, Agabi clarified that he was angered because of a misunderstanding over the appointment time.
This discrepancy between the two legal team members could be interpreted as a potential communication issue or perhaps a strategic move in the ongoing legal proceedings.
