A 39-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday evening after being found driving drunk with seven children in her car. She was not licensed to drive and did not stop when asked by police.
The woman, whose name has not been disclosed, was driving erratically along a federal highway. Witnesses reported her car was swerving. Police attempted to pull her over, but she was uncooperative. Eventually, they managed to stop the vehicle and discovered an unsecured toddler sitting in the trunk. Five of the children were her biological offspring, while the other two belonged to acquaintances. Her husband was not present and had no knowledge of the incident. The woman was unable to provide a breathalyzer sample due to her level of intoxication. The vehicle she was driving had previously been linked to other criminal offenses.
The woman faces criminal charges for her actions. She is accused of driving under the influence with seven children in the car, endangering their lives. Her husband has taken responsibility for the children during this time.
