In the heart of Barangay Tabucan, Dumangas, Iloilo, a thrilling anti-drug operation unfolded on the afternoon of April 24, 2025. Three local residents, including a high-value individual (HVI) and two street-level individuals (SLI), found themselves in cuffs following the stirring showdown.

Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) Director, Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, couldn't contain his excitement as he stated, "Nababawasan ang nakukuha natin sa mga ito, patuloy tayo sa kampanya natin laban sa mga droga." (Translation: "We're taking them down one by one, our campaign against drugs continues.")

The daring operation was spearheaded by the Dumangas Municipal Police Station (MPS) under the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (Ippo) and supported by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) in Western Visayas, Iloilo Police Provincial Office - Drug Enforcement Unit (Ippo-DEU), and the Philippine National Police - Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG).

The three suspects, aged 23 to 39, were identified as Aming, and aliases Alfoni and Kier (alias Kiki). Authorities nabbed them with a hoard of illicit substances, with an estimated street value of approximately PHP1 million. Among the seizures were 12 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and a dangerous hand grenade.

As the dust settled, the suspects were taken into custody, where they'll face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
