In a statement made to journalists on Wednesday, the President of Lithuania confirmed that a drone found in the Jonava district in August was, in fact, a Russian drone. Contrary to previous reports suggesting the drone entered Lithuania from Belarus, it was revealed that the drone originated from an unspecified location within Russia.

According to the Delfi portal, the drone was first spotted in Lithuania in late July. The police were promptly informed about the unidentified drone, and upon finding the drone in question in August, it was discovered to be equipped with explosives. The drone's deviation from its course is believed to be due to the action of anti-drone measures.

The National Center for Crisis Management reported that the drones crossing Lithuania's airspace were launched by Russia towards Ukraine, not Belarus. The President stated that the report about the drone being launched from Belarus is false. He further clarified that the drone found in Jonava district was not launched intentionally towards Lithuania, but ended up there by chance.

In a separate development, a 44-year-old Russian citizen and a 46-year-old German were sentenced to nearly three years and three years in prison respectively, for violations related to the Russia embargo in a case involving electronics deliveries.

No new information about the TikTok user from Bobruisk or the rural disco in Glusky district was provided. Similarly, no new information about the Lithuanian-Polish relations or the vaccination of anti-Polish sentiment was discussed in this context.

The President's statement regarding the Russian drone was technically confirmed, providing clarity on the incident that caused a stir in Lithuania in August.
