Drone Assault in Kharkiv Oblast by Russia Leaves Six People, Including Kids, Wounded
In the dead of the night on what seems to be June 2, Kharkiv, a city in Ukraine, fell under attack from Russian drones. The explosions were heard loud and clear in the Shevchenkivskyi and Kholodnohirskyi districts, leaving six individuals, including two minors, injured in their wake.
According to Oleh Syniehubov, the Head of Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, and Ihor Terekhov, the city's Mayor, the attacks left a civilian business building, several houses, and vehicles demolished. The mayhem started as early as 4:40 am when a child was reported injured in the attack, with the number rising to six by 5:07 am, including another child.
It's important to note that these aren't the only incidents involving drones and explosions Russia has been accused of. Previous reports suggest that Russian drone and missile operations have been ongoing along Ukraine’s international border with Russia in Kharkiv Oblast, causing significant damage and injuries, but without documented advances by Russian forces in the region.
The most significant reported incident in the Kharkiv region during this period is the attack on a private enterprise in Balakliia, a small town nearby, which resulted in the death of one employee and injuries to several others. While specific details for June 1–2 are not fully differentiated from events reported on June 3 in local announcements, it is clear that the damage and casualties reported for Kharkiv during this period mainly stem from the Balakliia incident.
