FAI Cup Semi-Finals Set for September Showdown
The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has announced the semi-final matchups for this year's FAI Cup, with both the men's and women's competitions heating up as we approach the final stages.
In the men's competition, Kerry FC will face Sligo Rovers at Mounthawk Park, Drogheda United will host Shamrock Rovers at United Park, Finn Harps will play against Cork City at Finn Park, and St Patrick's Athletic (St Pats) will welcome Galway United to Richmond Park.
The women's FAI Cup semi-finals, however, are confirmed with Bohemians set to face Treaty United at Dalymount Park, and Shamrock Rovers taking on Athlone Town at Tallaght Stadium. These matches are scheduled for September 13th, 2025, with live coverage on TG4.
The men's semifinals lineup is yet to be finalized, as it depends on the outcomes of the quarter-finals. All matches will be played in the week ending Sunday, September 14th.
Notably, the teenager Owen Elding scored the goal that knocked Bohemians out of the men's FAI Cup. Elding is currently completing the necessary paperwork for Fifa to make him eligible for the Republic of Ireland under-21 squad.
In the women's FAI Cup, it will be a clash between Shamrock Rovers and Athlone Town, and Bohemians will face Treaty United. The women's semi-finals will kick off at 16:00 and 19:35 on September 13th, respectively.
As the excitement builds, football fans across Ireland are eagerly awaiting the quarter-final results to find out who will advance to the men's FAI Cup semifinals. The final of the men's FAI Cup will take place at the Aviva Stadium on November 9th.
