Weeze Traffic Accident: Two Men Seriously Injured

A traffic accident occurred in Weeze, Germany, on Wednesday evening at approximately 7 p.m. The incident took place on the L77 (Uedemer Street, near Kalbeck Street).

According to the Kleve police department, the collision involved an agricultural tractor and a Hyundai i30n. The driver of the Hyundai, a 38-year-old man from Uedem, had to be freed from the vehicle by the fire department. Unfortunately, both men in the Hyundai suffered life-threatening injuries.

The agricultural tractor was being driven by a 64-year-old man from Goch. The traffic accident investigation team was promptly deployed to the scene.

The two men were taken to hospitals, with a rescue helicopter also being deployed. The L77 (Uedemer Street) between Steinbergen and Kalbeck Street was closed until 2:40 a.m. for the accident investigation.

The police are investigating the accident and are seeking any relevant information from witnesses. They are also asking road users who may have had to swerve to avoid the Hyundai involved in the accident to come forward. It is alleged that the driver was driving recklessly before the accident, including overtaking other vehicles despite oncoming traffic.

At the time of writing, the search results do not provide any information about witnesses to the traffic accident. The condition of the two men from Uedem is now reported to be severe but no longer life-threatening, although they still require extensive treatment.

The police are urging anyone with information to contact them on 02821-5040. They emphasise the importance of sharing information to aid in their investigation and ensure the safety of all road users.
