Dresden's famous Music Festival has once again knocked it out of the park with its theme "Love", scoring big attendance numbers reminiscent of last year. Over four weeks, about 65,000 festival-goers jam-packed 58 events, generating an impressive €2 million in sales. The average attendance rate skyrocketed to an impressive 95%, and ticket sales at the box office surged compared to previous years.

Festival director, Jan Vogler, pronounced the event an "outstanding year" ahead of its closing performance, a historical rendition of Richard Wagner's "Siegfried" under Kent Nagano's direction. The jaw-dropping array of top-tier artists, a captivated crowd, and the heterogeneity of venues and musical styles turned Dresden into an unprecedented music paradise.

The festival, initially founded in 1978 and expanded by cellist Vogler since 2009, proclaimed a victorious return this season. The festivities will close with a concert by the Berliner Philharmoniker under Kirill Petrenko on September 20, 2025. But mark your calendars, Dresden enthusiasts, as the 50th edition of the Music Festival is coming your way from May 14 to June 14, 2026.
