Just before setting off for training camp in Austria, Dynamo Dresden has snatched Swedish forward Nils Fröling from Hansa Rostock. Fröling, a 25-year-old U21 international, will add firepower to Dresden's assault on the 2nd Bundesliga.
Fröling, the second ex-Rostock player to join the Dresden side after Alexander Rossipal, boasts three years of experience in German professional football. Last season, the Swede scored six goals in the 2nd Bundesliga. "Joining Dresden, with prior knowledge of the league, felt like the perfect move," Fröling shared.
Thomas Brendel, Dynamo Dresden's sports director, heralded the new acquisition, praising Fröling's physicality and intense style of play, which he's already proven in many 2nd Bundesliga games.
After a week of intense training, Dresden's squad will partake in friendly matches to establish a solid foundation for the upcoming season and foster team cohesion. On July 5, they face SV Ried from the Austrian first division.
A Comfortable Win for 1. FC Magdeburg and Dynamo Dresden
Preparing for the new season, both 1. FC Magdeburg and Dynamo Dresden boasted double-digit wins in their friendly matches against lower-tier adversaries.
Fröling's previous club, Hansa Rostock, almost made it to the relegation battle in the second half of last season, thanks in part to Fröling's hard work and knack for finding the net. Sports analysts believe that, with improved finishing, he could add 15 valuable points to Dynamo Dresden's relegation fight.
Dynamo Dresden Lands Experienced Defender
In addition to bolstering their attack, Dynamo Dresden has secured a seasoned right-back, filling the vacant spot left by the departure of the incumbent. The newcomer is a 2nd Bundesliga veteran from Switzerland.
A Skeleton Team Kicks Off Summer Training
Dynamo Dresden commenced their preseason preparations under scorching summer temperatures with a skeleton team in place. The curtailed roster couldn't halt their enthusiasm, as they embarked on a mission to secure a well-deserved place in the 2nd Bundesliga.
