Top volleyball action is heating up in Germany as Dresdner SC signs a powerhouse player. The German champions proudly announce the acquisition of Canadian middle blocker, Amanda Siksna, set to join the team post-Queen's University. With a one-year contract in hand, this 22-year-old dynamo embarks on her first professional season.

A force to be reckoned with, Amanda topped the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) rankings last season with a staggering 140 blocks and made the OUA All-Star team. Her talent didn't go unnoticed, and DSC coach Alexander Waibl singled her out, praising Amanda's agility and dangerous serve. "With Amanda's exceptional athleticism, dynamic middle blocking, and her relentless, fighting spirit, she's destined to excel in the professional realm," Waibl said.

Amanda expressed her enthusiasm for the new challenge, echoing Waibl's sentiments about the club, organization, and vibrant city of Dresden: "Dresdner SC is a historic powerhouse with an engaged fan base. It offers everything I was looking for – a top team, a robust organization, and a rich cultural hub ripe with history."

To provide some context, Amanda Siksna is a standout volleyball player recognized for her achievements at Queen's University. Over her four-year journey with the Queen's Gaels, she amassed a remarkable 259 blocks and 342 kills. Siksna found herself in the limelight, earning the title of First Team OUA All-Star after the 2023-24 season. Alongside her teammates Hannah Duchesneau and Claire Carter, Siksna also received the distinction of a 2nd Team Conference All-Star [1][3].
