Get Ready for a Thrilling Spectacle at the City Biathlon Dresden 2025!

Brace yourselves, sports enthusiasts! This year's City Biathlon in Dresden promises an unforgettable emotional rollercoaster. Biathlon icons Johannes Thingnes Bø and Tarjei Bø are set to bid adieu to their illustrious careers in the Legends Race, an event bound to leave hearts fluttering and make sports history.

Joining them in this star-studded lineup is Benedikt Doll, who already hung up his biathlon boots in 2024, and a host of other greats of the sport. The City Biathlon Dresden 2025 is shaping up to be a premier event once more, drawing a high-caliber international field to the heart of the city on August 31, 2025.

As Dirk Hilbert, Mayor of the state capital, puts it, "After the phenomenal kickoff last year, this unique sporting event returns to Dresden. With a running course against the backdrop of Dresden's historic old town and shooting taking place in the state-of-the-art Heinz-Steyer Stadium, the City Biathlon not only showcases our city to a massive audience but also serves as a top-tier highlight for top athletes."

The race will see ten women and ten men compete in two mass start races. Runners from the current World Cup like Lou Jeanmonnot and Éric Perrot from France, Philipp Nawrath, Justus Strelow, Vanessa Voigt, and Julia Tannheimer from Germany are expected to participate, along with numerous other Europe-based biathlon greats.

Karoline Offigstad Knotten from Norway, who wrapped up the last season in 14th place in the overall World Cup, will be joining the female contingent. On the male side, Quentin Fillon Maillet from France, a standout biathlete of his generation, will compete. He finished the last season in 5th place in the overall World Cup and won the overall World Cup in the 2021/22 season, cementing his status as the world's best biathlete.

Rounding out the German trio with a solid 23rd place in the overall World Cup is Philipp Horn. Jakov Fak from Slovenia, an experienced athlete in the field, will also be vying for the win. He finished in 10th place in the overall World Cup and 2nd in the individual World Cup.
