Dresden City Festival Schedule Unveiled
Dresden, Germany - The city's annual Theaterplatz City Festival is set to return from August 15 to 17, promising an exciting lineup of performances. Among the stars confirmed to take the stage are Camouflage, Stereo Act, Northern Lite, and SOPHIA, representing the new wave of German pop music.
Camouflage, known for their melancholic electropop sound with influences from Kraftwerk, OMD, and Depeche Mode, will be showcasing their eighth studio album "Greyscale". This contemporary synth-pop work, which demonstrates they are more than just an 80s revival, is sure to be a highlight of the festival.
SOPHIA, who has made a name for herself as part of the new German pop generation, will also be performing. Known for her thematic depth and artistic maturity, SOPHIA gained fame from the TV show "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" and is celebrated for her powerful voice and emotionally deep texts.
In addition to these pop acts, the festival will also feature a classical performance by the acclaimed soprano, Fatma Said. Known for her debuts with major orchestras such as the Berliner Philharmoniker and Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Said's program will include works by Gershwin, Piazzolla, and Brahms, among others.
The festival will also see the debut of "100% Stereoact", an audio packed with potential hits between deep house, electrified pop, and schlager melodies. Special guests for this album include 90s superstar Jasmin Wagner aka Blumchen and Stereoact's buddy Chris Cronauer.
Northern Lite, who have been creating positive emotions for over 25 years, will be embarking on a new tour for their upcoming album "Forward Living". The new tour promises to transport the audience to the past while filled with fresh electronic sounds.
Moss Kena, a British singer-songwriter celebrated by artists like Kendrick Lamar, Elton John, Zane Lowe, and Lenny Kravitz, will also be performing at the festival. His collaboration with Alle Farben "Forgot How To Love" reached the top 10 of the German airplay charts.
Lena Marie Engel will also be interpreting four titles at the festival, and she, along with Kerstin Ott, supports talent promotion.
