New Goalkeeper Thomas Dähne Joins TSV 1860 Munich

TSV 1860 Munich has announced the signing of Thomas Dähne, a goalkeeper with an impressive career, from Bundesliga relegation side Holstein Kiel. The 31-year-old, who hails from Oberaudorf, Bavaria, is filling the shoes left by Marco Hiller, who departed after 17 years.

Dähne, who has shown no signs of adaptation problems in his first competitive games for TSV 1860, has expressed satisfaction with his settlement at the club. He finds the atmosphere within the team and at the Green Stadium outstanding. His refreshing Bavarian dialect has not been lost despite years outside the Free State.

The new goalkeeper's move to TSV 1860 feels like a homecoming to his dream destination. Dähne is married to a woman from Salzburg and has built a house there. However, he does not want to be compared to his predecessor Marco Hiller, who has had great success in Belgium, making only four saves in his five appearances and keeping a clean sheet three times.

Marco Hiller is currently playing for KAS Eupen in Belgium, where the team ranks fifth in the second division. TSV 1860, on the other hand, now boasts one of the best defenses in the league, thanks to Dähne. The team's defense has been a crucial factor in their mission for promotion.

Dähne's goal is to bring his experiences to TSV 1860 and, if possible, celebrate promotion at the end of the season. He has had a diverse career, including stints at TSV 1860 Rosenheim, Red Bull Salzburg, RB Leipzig, HJK Helsinki, Wisla Plock, Holstein Kiel, and now TSV 1860.

Despite his critical remarks about his performance against Havelse, Dähne has been a crucial addition to the team. He did not take over Hiller's number '1', but received the '21' that he had worn at some of his previous clubs. TSV 1860 is expecting Dähne's second child in November, adding to the positive vibes surrounding the team.

Dähne is expecting his second child in November. The upcoming addition to his family is a testament to the stability he has found at TSV 1860. With the team's strong defense and the determination of their new goalkeeper, the road to promotion looks promising for TSV 1860 Munich.
