Various European nations, including Germany, France, Albania, Austria, Slovakia, and the victor of a playoff between Bosnia-Herzegovina, Israel, Ukraine, and Iceland, are set to compete in the football Euros in Düsseldorf next year. This decision was made during a draw that took place at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. Matches in the group stage, such as Austria versus France (June 17), Slovakia versus the winner of Play-offs B (June 21), and Albania versus Spain (June 24), are scheduled to occur at the Merkur Spiel-Arena.

With the clock ticking down, excitement for the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament reaches a fever pitch. The tournament will bring together 24 powerhouse nations, with Düsseldorf hosting five of the action-packed matches.

Among the heavyweights heading to Düsseldorf are football giants Spain and France, along with neighboring nation Austria. The prospect of Ukraine or Israel joining via the play-offs adds some thrilling intrigue to the mix.

City Director Burkhard Hintzsche remarks, "With the allocation of the teams into groups and the fixed preliminary round matches, we can now move into the next phase of planning. Many fans will now start to familiarize themselves with Düsseldorf as a venue and travel destination."

Coming off a 2021 semi-finals appearance at the European Championship, Spain is led by coach Luis de la Fuente, making them one of the tournament's top contenders. The only nation to have successfully defended the EM title after 2008, "La Furia Roja" promises to shake up the tournament with their superb gameplay.

France, with 11 appearances, is a regular participant in European Championships, and after a disappointing 2021 round of 16 exit, Mbappé and company have their sights set on France's third title.

Albania, with 2.8 million inhabitants, starts their European Championship journey again in 2024, having failed as the worst group third in the preliminary round back in 2016. Despite this setback, the team coached by national coach Sylvinho stunned the competition by clinching first place in the qualification for the 2024 tournament, ahead of both the Czech Republic and Poland.

Austria, with four Euro appearances in total, has ambitions to survive the group phase in Germany after reaching the round of 16 for the first time in 2021. This tenacity was on full display in November, when they claimed a dominant 2:0 victory over Germany in Vienna.

Slovakia, under the guidance of coach Francesco Calzona, qualified as runners-up behind Portugal for the UEFA Euro 2024. The Slovakian team has qualified for an end round for the third time in a row, with their greatest success at the European Championships being a round of 16 appearance all the way back in 2016.
